Romance was definitely in the air at The Inn at Glencairn when Amy and Dominic exchanged their vows to became husband and wife. Amy and Nick chose to say their 'I Do's' with their closest family surrounding them at a quaint Inn in New Jersey... on Valentines Day! Can you think of anything more romantic?!
When our studio manager Mary showed up to the venue, Nick was outside hanging out with family while Amy got ready upstairs. You could tell right away how laid back, but excited everyone was. While chatting with Amy upstairs it was discovered that she is pregnant with their first child, a baby girl! We had no clue because Amy and Nick never came into the office before their wedding. It was so exciting to find out that we would be photographing a very special union that day. Amy even brought along a custom stuffed elephant with their baby girl's name on the one ear; or course we had to include baby Cara in the portraits! After a private first look we spent some time outside before their ceremony, taking advantage of the amazing weather outside. The Inn at Glencairn has so many little areas on their grounds that make for great portraits! Between the wooden chairs, the bright red barn, and the awesome stone building in the back we didn't know where to start! Around 2pm we headed inside for the ceremony. It was held inside the venue in front of a fireplace (again, SO romantic) and their family gathered around them to hear their vows. As they exchanged vows you could see in their eyes, and a few tears, how excited they were that the day was finally here! One of the best parts about being a wedding photographer is getting to share in the emotion on the wedding day. You can really get a feel for how much work has been put into planning, and the excitement of seeing it all come together. After the ceremony and family portraits we got to spend another 30 minutes or so outside for more portraits of the now Mr. and Mrs. Bradford. The sun had tucked behind a few clouds during the ceremony and gave us gorgeous overcast light to finish portraits. One of our favorites is Amy and Nick on the steps of the Inn; capturing the love between them and where it all came to be! We wish Amy and Nick many many years of love and happiness; and who knows, maybe we will get to meet Cara one day for family portraits!
